How we score.

Every tool on NeuralStack gets a single number out of 100 and a one-word verdict. The number is not a vibe. It is the average of five things we test the same way every time, on the plan most people would actually buy.

The five things we score

We weight these evenly, because a tool that is brilliant but unaffordable is not much use, and neither is a cheap one you cannot get to grips with.

  • Output quality. How good the actual result is, judged on real tasks rather than a curated demo.
  • Workflow fit. Whether it slots into how people really work, or fights them at every step.
  • Value for money. What you get for the plan you would genuinely pay for.
  • Speed. How quickly it responds and how little it interrupts your flow.
  • Onboarding. How fast a new user gets to something useful.

What the verdicts mean

Keep
88 to 100

We would put this on our own machine and pay for it without thinking twice.

Solid
78 to 87

Recommended, with clear eyes about the trade-offs we name in the review.

Watch
68 to 77

Promising or situational. Worth tracking, not yet worth committing to.

How we stay honest

We buy our own subscriptions. No company pays for a review, a score, or a place on the index, and no affiliate arrangement nudges a number up or down. If that ever changes, it will be labelled on the page, in plain sight.

Tools move fast, so a score is a snapshot, not a verdict for all time. We revisit every review at least once a quarter, and sooner when something ships a major change. The date on each review tells you when we last looked.
