The pitch for Notion AI is location. It lives where your notes, docs and wikis already are, so summarising a long page, drafting in place or asking a question across the workspace happens without leaving the tool. For a team that runs on Notion, that convenience is real.
Step outside that context and the value thins out. The raw writing and reasoning are about what you would get from a free chatbot, so you are paying for proximity rather than a better model. The cross-workspace Q and A is only as good as how well your workspace is organised, messy notes give messy answers.
At $10 per member on top of an existing plan it is an easy yes for committed Notion teams and an easy no for everyone else. Useful, not essential, which is why we are keeping it on watch rather than recommending it outright.
